Jackson Hole

We hadn't been back to Jackson Hole since our honeymoon and I had been wanting to go for a while! Sometime in the summer I bought on a daily steals website a night in Jackson Hole for two and it included a white water raft trip too. Well Push came to shove and it was going to expire. The first weekend in October my sister Lynda decided to get married. THat was our last weekend to go if we didn't want it to expire. Her wedding was nice and we welcome her knew husband Shaun into the family! We left her reception in SLC and headed on the road... this was a last minute excursion. Stopped at home and gathered a few things and got on the road. Half way there I realize that D did not get my jeans out of the dryer..... I was still in a skirt and unless I wanted to wear kitty/puppy jammies all weekend we better stop and get something! Our only hope was ARCO in Soda Springs, WY. Luckily I found a pair that was reasonably priced for being in the middle of nowhere. So, we checked into the KOA at like 8pm at night, decided to drive up to Jackson Lake Lodge for out favorite dinner (chicken stripes off the kids menu and a huckleberry shake). Visited with Our good friend Shauna and her kidlets! We got back to the cabin around midnight..... The cabins were small but nice! Showers were not in the cabins but they were really nice! I for sure would stay at the KOA again! ALL in all we had a wonderful weekend! We visited where Derrick used to work in Jackson and his wonderful boss gave us a night free there... who wouldn't stay another night!? Enjoy the pics! Im glad we actually brought a camera... our honeymoon is picture-less!

Thanksgiving BLAST!

Derrick and I's family are on a rotation of every other year for the holidays, unfortunately both of our family is on the same year! We had D's siblings and parents over Thursday late morning for lunch, then headed up towards East Canyon! Thanksgiving was so much fun this year, I would say the best I have ever had (although playing snow football with the Cowley cousins is high on the list)! With everyone coming home this year, there were 2 parents, 1 aunt, 9 siblings, 3-in-laws present (2 missing), 14 grandkids. I think that adds up to about 29. My mom and dad rented out the place where D & I had our reception! Best Idea Ever! Oh so fun; there were planned activities, games, lots and lots of food! Best of all, all 9 Jones kids where together with all their kids! That doesn't happen all too often, we try once a year, the last time was at our wedding and we didn't even get a picture! We gathered Thursday afternoon and we stayed til Saturday morning! D and I stayed up til 5 am Friday night playing board games, slept maybe an hour til we got the sickies! Maybe after a combined hour sleep we dreadfully packed up the place, cleaned, drove to my mom's to unpack, and then finally went home to bed! Still worth it! Time with both of our families was nice! It is hard to split the time, I'm thinking we are going to have to disappoint one family and only have one Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving next year or one Christmas.... Any suggestions? Enjoy the pics!
