Toilet Paper Mini
My Indy Kitty
Well soon after Midnight had the kittens our family Cat of 18 years started to go down hill fast. On a Friday she went to jump up on my dads truck to greet him and didn't jump high enough and hit the head lights. The rest of the weekend he could hardly move! I drove up to Morgan to give my last hug and kisses! Boy am I going to miss this fur ball!! He was in my family for most of my life! It was hard to believe he would not be around much longer. Monday morning my parents made the decision to put him down. They could not watch him suffer anymore. What a great Cat! I will forever miss him and one day hope to see him again! He was buried out under the apple tree with my grandparents dog tiny lies too. I wrote a poem and here are some pictures of him!
He was sooo pretty! |
One of his last days; he wanted to lay with the kittens! Their Mama was not amused! |
We Will Never Forget
We will never forget
that day when your blue eyes and beautifully colored mane entered our home.
When everything we did around you seemed like a game and scratches were the
result of your victory.
We will never forget how you added many smiles to our face
when you would run into the mirrors as if it were an enemy trying to get your
family. You protected our family from strays and paid the price time and time
again.
We will never forget how much patience you had when we
dressed you up and strolled you around as if you were baby doll, when we moved
you from house to house, and when we added new pets for you to put up with.
We will never forget when someone tried to take your life and
you fought to keep it and the long recovery you indured. We loved to hold you
and carry you around the house constantly, it’s no wonder you put on a few
pounds.
We will never forget the pounds you put on. That extra fluff
allowed us to have lots of extra snuggles and we loved when you would let us
lie on your tummy and take a nap.
We will never forget the endless boxes you played in, the
laughs from the crazy things you would do, the funny places we would find you
sleeping, and continually begging for food at the dinner table.
We will never forget the morning wake up calls, many cans of
consumed cat food, and the bell ringing on the front door to let you out, and
the call to come in for the night.
We will never forget the last 17 years we had with you and
all the fun memories you brought to our family.
You
will never be forgotten.
Love
you, Indiana “INDY” Jones

Mollie Rose
One of the hardest things I did this summer was let a ‘little sister’ grow
up and marry her sweetheart in Sweden! Summer of 2011 Mollie went away to spend
the summer in Sweden; it was there she met Joel! Joel was everything she ever
wanted in an eternal companion and than some! She came home at the end summer
and I believe half of her heart stayed there! Joel had ‘big plans’ to fly here
for Christmas. I was a little worried at first but once I met him I completely
understood why she couldn’t live without him! The distance for Mollie was
extremely hard and emotional! I think I was slowly preparing for the day that
she would leave me and join him in Sweden for good! I had no idea how hard that
day would really be! I have been fortunate to be an older sister to the 5
Bateman girls! I started tending these girls in 2000 and fell in love with the whole
family!! They kidnap me and take me to dinner and movies and I love their friendship!
Seeing Mollie leave was so hard! I tried to get airfare for her wedding but
could never afford the ticket L I was so
happy for her and her decision but disappointed I could not be there! BOY did I
cry when I got to take her to the airport, cry some more when I took her family
the following week, cry the day she got married and they sent me video and
pictures, cry more when I picked the family up…. Crying was not out of the
norm! Here I am crying while typing this! I still miss her and can’t wait to
see her again! I am so blessed for social media that allows me to still be
apart of her life!!
First Mate Mini
Our little Mini’s first imprint from the world was shear terror! When I found her, she was on a farm outside fending for herself! When we first got her, she was scared of everything and it continues to this day! She will eat just about anything if it doesn’t scare her first! It makes me giggle that she feels she has to steal food when she can have food whenever she wants!! Little did we know when we got her she has pneumonia and would cost my parents $500 to eventually get her better! She only weighed 1lb 3oz. I tried to pay them back for her medical bills but they resused to take the money! I'm just glad she is better and I love her!! We gave her the name after my Indy who died, she looks like a Mini ME!
2 years baby!
Bill's house
My nephew Jayden, who is 12, was trying to earn his
2nd class rank in the BSA and needed to know how to swim. He has never been
comfortable at swimming.
I
for one was thrown into a pool when I was younger and did just great, never had
a swimming lesson. Jayden's mom Cat convinced me at age
6 to
jump off an olympic high-dive, this 14 yr old sister of mine
would be at the bottom waiting to help me! HA so being the little sister I was
pressured into doing it! I could only doggie paddle but I was a confident doggie
paddler! I
think this is where my fear of heights came from; I jumped and went too
far in the water but not far enough to kick off the bottom to push up fast! I
came out of the water with little air left! Of course she kept her promise and
was there to support me but not really help because she could only doggie paddle herself!
Hind Sight is 20/20! I
continued to do this but never really liked the height of the diving board but
loved the water! Derrick has always loved the water! He was on swim
team and can do some awesome strokes; love the butterfly. Derrick and I told
Cat that if we could swim at her boyfriend’s pool, we would give Jayden swim
lessons! At first he had a life
jacket on at all times! We started by swimming with him in the shallow side
with a jacket on so he felt comfortable. When he consistently could swim from
one side to the other comfortably, we took off the vest! It was hard at first
but he became more and more comfortable. We taught him technique so he wouldn’t push water in
his eyes and up his nose. Then we convinced him to jump off the diving board
with the vest on, we would sit and wait at the end! We did that for a while until
he felt comfortable jumping off and swimming to the edge. Little by little,
week-by-week throughout the summer he became more and more comfortable in the
water! We
are so proud of him!!
